Connect your services

Last reviewed

Apps add capabilities to Gideon. Connections holds the access to services you choose. Start from Apps for a named service such as GitHub or Slack.

Connect an app

  1. Open Apps and browse the available integrations or connected-app view.
  2. Select the service and read the setup and permission information.
  3. Complete the offered connection flow with the account you intend Gideon to use.
  4. Try a small read-only task and check that it reaches the right account.

An app’s presence does not mean it is connected. A saved credential does not prove the service accepts it. Check the connection result and the first real request.

Advanced credentials

Open Connections → Advanced credentials for services requiring manual setup. Categories include Search, Channels, MCP, OAuth, and Apps. Use the credential name the integration expects. Saved secrets are not displayed again; replace or remove them through the connection controls.

Hosted models, speech, and inference are managed for you. Do not add provider keys or try to choose an inference model here.

Installing an app from a source

Hosted manual installations need a reachable repository URL. A local path on your laptop, or a loopback URL, cannot supply source to the remote runtime. Review the source and requested permissions before installing.

Disconnecting

Remove access you no longer need. Also check the external service if its authorization needs revoking there. Work depending on the connection may need to be paused or updated.

Read trust and limitations before installing code: the app network declaration is not an enforced network sandbox.
