Talk to Gideon

Last reviewed

Gideon supports voice interaction alongside text. Dictation, read-aloud, and a live conversation are different ways to work; use the controls available in your chat.

Dictate a message

Allow microphone access when your browser asks. Speak the request, then review the transcript before sending, especially names, numbers, and destinations. A transcription is your input, so correct it before it becomes a task.

Hear a response

Use the available read-aloud control for an answer. Check device volume and audio output if you cannot hear it. In hosted Gideon, speech services are managed; self-hosted installations need the relevant speech setup.

Use a live call

Start a live conversation from chat when the control is available. You can discuss the current task and have work handed back to the chat. Check the chat for tool progress and the actual result: a spoken acknowledgment or queued request is not proof of completion.

If a control is missing

Browser permissions, secure connection requirements, platform support, and runtime availability affect the controls. Check microphone permission and the selected input device. Reopen the chat after changing permissions. Text chat remains a useful fallback.

Review consequential details

Confirm amounts, dates, names, and external actions in the transcript or written result. End the call when you are done. Voice is an interaction mode, not a different approval policy.
