Watch sources and schedule reports

Last reviewed

Watched sources bring new material into Knowledge. Scheduled reports examine a chosen part of the library and write findings back as a knowledge item.

Create a source

From Knowledge, open Sources and add a source kind provided by your installation. Choose a recognizable name and configure its location. Depending on the provider, the input may be a feed URL, listing page, repository, or accessible folder.

A listing-page source expects the page that lists entries, such as a changelog index. Leave browser rendering off for a plain page; enable it only when JavaScript is needed. A watched folder must exist on the runtime and must not be a sensitive location.

Set polling deliberately

Choose the source’s polling interval and enrichment options. Settings → Watched sources controls the poll engine, network floor, active-source limit, per-poll item limit, and request budget. A disabled engine parks polling even if a source exists.

Add a scheduled report

Open Knowledge reports and choose New report. Set its name, research prompt, cron schedule, and timezone. Choose tags for new material and separately for searchable context. Empty context tags mean no additional context beyond the new material. Decide whether citations may include that context, and set an iteration cap.

Review the first generated report in Knowledge and inspect its citations before relying on the recurrence.

Settings can index artifacts into Knowledge search. A watched scratchpad turns new actionable lines in an accessible notes file into proposed plans in your Inbox; it does not execute them automatically. Checked and struck-through tasks are ignored. Leave the path empty to disable it.
