Apps, watched sources, and discovery settings

Last reviewed

Settings links to the controls that make capabilities available and visible. Installing an app, enabling a source, and showing a navigation item are separate choices.

Apps

Open Settings → Apps to inspect installed capability information and navigate to app management. Use the Apps page for installation, configuration, connection, updates, and removal. A configured app can still need service access.

Watched sources

Settings → Watched sources controls polling, request limits, artifact indexing, and the watched scratchpad. Changing the engine switch affects whether enabled sources are fetched. For a complete setup walkthrough, read watched sources and reports.

Legibility and Discover

Enable Discover tips if you want introductions to unfamiliar features. A tip can hide after use or dismissal; it does not enable the capability for you.

The context-files option lets an opted-in project render a Gideon-managed block into files such as AGENTS.md, CLAUDE.md, or .cursorrules. Only the marked block is managed and regeneration is manual per project. Review the generated context before another agent consumes it.

Packs and Ambient surfaces

Packs install reviewed bundles of capabilities; the pack guide covers setup and updates. Ambient surfaces control widgets and dashboard tiles; the Home guide covers binding and refresh behavior.

Do not confuse visibility with availability

Showing all pages changes navigation. It does not install apps, grant permissions, or make an unavailable backend work.
