Channels and external messages

Last reviewed

Channel apps can bring messages into Gideon and deliver replies through a connected service. The Inbox and a live channel conversation are related but distinct surfaces.

Connect the service

Start in Apps, follow the channel integration’s setup, and grant the intended account access. If manual credentials are required, use Connections. Confirm the allowed users, destinations, and permissions exposed by that app.

Try a small exchange

Send a harmless message through the connected channel and verify that it reaches the intended conversation. Check a reply before relying on ongoing delivery.

Be explicit about sending

Try this

Draft a reply to this message. Keep it under 100 words, include only confirmed details, and show me the draft and intended destination before sending.

Review who will receive it, whether it is a thread reply or a new message, and any attached file. A draft in chat is not a sent message; ask for the delivery result when sending is authorized.

Conversation continuity

A dashboard conversation may be linked or handed off to a supported channel thread. Check that you are continuing the intended thread, especially when more than one channel account is connected.

Troubleshooting

If delivery fails, inspect the connection, channel permissions, destination, and notification settings. Do not repeatedly send the same message until you know whether the earlier attempt was delivered.
