Inspect, correct, and organize memory
Open Settings → Memory to inspect what Gideon remembers, test recall, and review changes. A memory should remain correct and attributable as your work changes.
Find and edit a record
Search or filter by kind. Semantic records hold facts and preferences; episodic records capture past experience; lessons capture corrective guidance. Select a record to inspect it and its entity links. Edit a fact or lesson when you have a specific correction. Delete a record you no longer want used.
Review the history
The Events view records memory writes, updates, and deletions. Undo this memory change reverses the selected change where supported. Inspect the current record afterwards; an event list is a history of changes, not a guarantee every past value is still the desired one.
Try recall
Use the context preview to see what would enter a prompt for a query. Use deep recall to ask a question across facts and episodes. Compare the result with the stored material. Empty recall is different from a claim that no relevant fact exists.
Maintain the library
Health checks identify duplicate, stale, and contradictory facts. Consolidation and Dreaming review episodic material for recurring context worth preserving. Daily digests summarize a day’s memory activity. Review the result before treating a derived summary as a primary source.
Optional recall behavior
Entity links connect named people, projects, and tools. Volunteered memory offers related facts when enabled. Topology orientation provides a small map of known neighborhoods. Claim attribution distinguishes who said something. These are optional context behaviors; tune them only when you understand the benefit and review their output.
Markdown vault
Vault modes include off, mirror, and two-way. Mirror projects memory into readable Markdown; two-way can read supported edits back into memory. Files in the vault’s raw folder enter Knowledge ingestion instead. A custom vault path may fall outside a self-hosted snapshot; review backup coverage.
