Developer extensions and interfaces

Last reviewed

For advanced use, Gideon exposes extension formats and interfaces alongside the customer console. Use the source reference that matches the extension you are building.

Skills and prompts

Skills carry reusable operating guidance. Prompts support variables and snippets. Start by building a method that works on a real task, then package it. Read the skill format before relying on a custom field.

Workflow templates

Templates define the run graph, input bindings, actions, waits, and review gates. Use stable step identifiers so a run remains understandable through revisions. Read the workflow template guide for authoring rules and examples.

App SDK and channels

The Python app SDK supports tools, providers, and contributed surfaces. A channel app needs both inbound transport and outbound delivery, plus Inbox behavior if messages must arrive without a live session. Read the channel app guide and test the real service paths.

API and CLI

Use the API overview for REST and WebSocket surfaces, and the CLI reference for local commands. Hosted customer permissions are narrower than local host administration; do not assume a listed operator endpoint is available in a hosted account.

Extend safely

Keep secrets out of source and prompt text. Document permissions and limits. A sample, declared integration, or source module is not proof that a live third-party connection works.
